Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Cowabunga Collection

Konami have announced Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Cowabunga Collection last night, which is a collection of classic TMNT games from both the arcade and several 8-bit and 16-bit consoles, like the Gameboy, NES, Sega Genesis (Megadrive) and Super Nintendo.

These versions will be true to their originals, but will have added functionality like a instant rewind and a save function. Check out the list of titles below:

• Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (Arcade)
• Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Turtles in Time (Arcade)
• Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (NES)
• Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: The Arcade Game (NES)
• Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III: The Manhattan Project (NES)
• Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Tournament Fighters (NES)
• Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles IV: Turtles in Time (Super Nintendo)
• Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Tournament Fighters (Super Nintendo)
• Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Hyperstone Heist (Sega Genesis)
• Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Tournament Fighters (Sega Genesis)
• Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Fall of The Foot Clan (Game Boy)
• Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: Back From The Sewers (Game Boy)
• Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III: Radical Rescue (Game Boy)

As far as I can remember, I have only played the Super Nintendo version of Turtles in Time, which had those cool Mode 7 scaling features when you threw an enemy towards the screen. It was very close to the original arcade version of Turtles in Time and now you can play both of them side by side, to nitpick over all the differences.

Anyway, this is a great collection, whether you are either a casual or die-hard Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle fan or whether you just like it for nostalgic reasons. No exact releasedate has been given, but this collection should appear somewhere in 2022. It will be available on Playstation 4, Playstation 5, Nintendo Switch, XBox One, XBox Series S/X and on PC through Steam.
